Hello everyone! My name is Tonianne Ferraro! I am filled with excitement and joy to join The Catholic Academy of Stamford as a Third Grade Teacher. It’s an incredible opportunity for me to share my passion for teaching with my new class. Growing up, I attended catechism, made my communion and confirmation at St. Cecilia, so this truly feels like a full-circle moment for me. Stamford, Connecticut, has always been my home! I attended Stamford Public Schools K-12. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, inspired by the educators who shaped my own journey. I’ve been working with children since I was 16 years old, starting as a mother’s helper and lifeguard at Newfield Swim Club, which later led to many babysitting and tutoring roles.

After graduating from Stamford High School, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in History, Literature, and Language from Southern Connecticut State University. Currently, I am applying to graduate school to pursue my master’s degree in Literacy. My teaching experience began with student teaching in first grade at Strawberry Hill International Baccalaureate School, followed by roles as a building substitute and long-term substitute teacher for sixth grade ELA and fifth grade STEM, both at Strawberry Hill. I feel grateful and blessed to now be part of The Catholic Academy of Stamford, and I look forward to the journey ahead as a Third Grade Teacher!
