A Historic Day for Catholic Academy of Stamford

On September 12, 2025, the Catholic Academy of Stamford celebrated a momentous milestone as the community gathered with joy and gratitude to break ground on the Saint Carlo Acutis Education Wing, marking an exciting new chapter in the Academy’s history. Since its founding in July 2017 through the merger of four Catholic schools, CAS has continued to grow in both spirit and number. This expansion, which will add four new classrooms, including a science lab, art room, Spanish classroom, and dedicated middle school space, reflects the Academy’s commitment to providing students with an exceptional education rooted in faith, learning, and love.

The occasion was made even more meaningful as the new wing was named in honor of Saint Carlo Acutis, canonized on September 7, 2025. A modern model of holiness, Saint Carlo’s deep love for the Eucharist and his faithful use of technology to share the Gospel offer an inspiring example to today’s young people. With Bishop Frank Caggiano present to bless this historic occasion, Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons proclaimed September 12, 2025, Catholic Academy of Stamford Day in the City of Stamford, recognizing the Academy’s contributions to the community and offering congratulations on this significant achievement. With faith, hope, and excitement for the future, CAS begins this next chapter of its journey of excellence, growth, and Catholic education.

Mayor Simmons presented CAS with a proclamation declaring September 12, 2025 “The Catholic Academy of Stamford Day.”
