Geography Bee Champions: Making History….Again!
May 2026: Congratulations to Eduardo Toledo, CAS 6th grader, on more incredible achievements in Geography! After competing in three regional Geography competitions in Connecticut and earning 2nd place in both Geography Bees through International Academic Competitions (IAC), Eduardo qualified for the National Finals in Orlando, Florida. At the National Finals, Eduardo competed in three additional Geography events and advanced all the way to the semifinals of the National Geography Bee, finishing an outstanding 14th place out of 170 top-scoring students from regional competitions across the country. March 2026: Congratulations to Nathaniel Mascarenhas CAS 4th grade student who won first place in the KofC GeoBee! And congratulations to Eduardo Toledo, CAS 6th grade student who won second place! Read More on FCC Here (page 20) Nathaniel is the second-ever 4th grade student to win first place in the KofC GeoBee, following Eduardo, who was the first 4th grader to earn the top honor in 2024. This year, Eduardo also became the first ever participant to win awards at three KofC Geography Bees! We also congratulate Caleb Kwan (8th grade) on qualifying for the GeoBee and competing among top student geographers from across the region and representing CAS! The Catholic Academy of Stamford also made history yet again, becoming the first school to have a champion four years in a row! March 2025: Congratulations to Eduardo Toledo, CAS 5th grade student, for making history once again, this time as only the second-ever participant to win the KofC GeoBee two years in a row! Read More on FCC Here (page 14) We also congratulate Caleb Kwan (7th grade) and Julian Reiff (8th grade) on qualifying for the GeoBee, competing among top student geographers from across the region and representing CAS with distinction! The Catholic Academy of Stamford also made history, becoming the first school to have a champion three years in a row! Eduardo Toledo is our reigning champion for 2025 from last year (2024) and Philip Valenzano was our champion in 2023.

March 2023: Congratulations to Philip Valenzano, CAS 8th grade student who won first place in the KofC GeoBee!

Spelling Bee Champions:
April 2026: Congratulations to Nathaniel Mascarenhas, CAS 4th grade student, who won the regional 4th Grade Division of the Catholic Schools Spelling Bee Competition, sponsored by the Connecticut State Council of the Knights of Columbus! The competition was held in Newtown in April, where Nathaniel earned first place among 4th grade competitors.
April 2025: Congratulations to Jane Lynch and Matteo Lucero for their incredible achievements at the 26th Annual Catholic Schools Spelling Bee Competition, sponsored by the Connecticut State Council of the Knights of Columbus! Matteo took home 1st place in the 6th Grade Division, and Jane earned 1st place in the 4th Grade Division.
April 2024: Congratulations to Vinz Reylana for his outstanding achievement for winning 1st place in the 4th Grade Division at the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee Competition!
June 2022: Congratulations to Veronica Tawiah, CAS 5th grade student at The Catholic Academy of Stamford for winning the Knights of Columbus Connecticut Catholic School Spelling Bee! This is the second consecutive year that a Catholic Academy of Stamford student won the title of State Champ of the Knights of Columbus Connecticut Catholic School 2022 Spelling Bee.
