My name is Mirna Marji and I am a second grade teacher at The Catholic Academy of Stamford. I am excited to share that this will be my first teaching experience. I graduated with my double Bachelors from Southern Connecticut State University in December 2021. I majored in Early Childhood Education and Liberal Studies with minors in Child, Family, and Community Studies, and Psychology. I also intend on receiving my Masters as I work. Before coming to CAS, I worked in the public school system for about two and a half years. For about a year, I was a building substitute teacher for students from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Then for a couple of months, I was a long-term substitute teacher for Kindergarten. Recently, I was a Special Education Paraeducator for a small group of students for a little over a year.
I knew I always wanted to become a teacher since I was ten years old. When I became a little older, around my early teenage years, I used to volunteer at my parish’s Sunday School in Yonkers, NY as an assistant teacher. A couple years later, I moved to Newtown, CT, and found a new parish in Danbury, CT and continued to assist in Sunday School. Today, I volunteer to do parish events, readings, and religious education for younger children.
I am very blessed to work at Catholic Academy of Stamford where I can teach students about the Catholic faith, God’s love and mercy.
