Before teaching, I edited books and wrote magazine articles, but something was missing – First Graders.  Was it the energy they bring to solving math problems, clicking row after row of unit cubes as they race to create three digit numbers? Listening to a First Grader read quietly from a chapter book that–only a few weeks ago–seemed too frustrating, or watching them as they lower their heads in prayer before enjoying snack, stays with you for a long time.

Memories of the First Graders I’ve taught and the families I’ve known make me grateful for my years within the Diocese. I am happy to join the faculty of CAS and look forward to the new year.
